Honig Winery is a family run winery whose first commercial vintage dates from 1980. Patriarch Louis Honig ran a successful advertising business in San Francisco when he decided to buy land in Napa Valley. He purchased 68 acres here in 1964 from the Wagner’s (owners of nearby Caymus Vineyards).After the wine won a Gold Medal at the Orange County Fair, the family decided to increase production, and Honig Vineyard & Winery was born. In 1984, at the age of 22, grandson Michael Honig took over management of the vineyard and winery.
